This is from a Spring 1984 lecture at North Texas State University. The tune is a Bb blues, Sonnymoon for Two. Mike blows for about four minutes. John Ballantyne is on piano, Kendall Kay is on drums. I don’t know who is playing bass but you can hear the obvious Jaco influence. This is a student rhythm section and Mike really digs playing with them.

This video was released in April, 2009 to promote the building of a new football stadium on the campus of the University of North Texas. It will replace the aging Fouts Field. In Fall of 2008, the students passed a referendum to increase the athletic fee, which by Texas law may only cover up to half of the construction cost.
