    this guy was a beast. Back before cable tv and the internet, you had to rely on print media. There was this book that listed the leaders in every nba category and they would dedicate 2 pages to that stat putting a picture of the guy who lead that category. So I was browsing through the ists leaders and there was Michael Ray, then I turned the pages and saw the same pic of Richardson for steals. I’ve never seen that in he is indeed the first ever to lead nba in ist and steals.

    Man listen! I was like on my way to H.S. in jersey when sugar was coming through doing his thing,when everyone was on magic and isaih, i was modeling my game after sugar ray richardson. Me and my man julio use to dam near cry everytime sugar use to cave in to the drugs. My all time favorite was and still is this cat! Him and Rod strickland, so you have to understand what type of game i had ya know! To his nephew, ya big uncle was 1 of the best in doing what he did, 4REAL!!! 80’s WAS REAL TIMES!

    I never said Michael Ray sucked, the Knicks have had an awful team overall at that time. More problems then than even now. Look at World B. Free who was merely a contributor on that 76ers team of 1977. He got dealt to the Clippers in the early 80s and averaged 30 points a game because everyone else on the team was garbage. Ditto Jerry Stackhouse on the Pistons in ‘01.
