How much did you pay for that dead fish?

Numerous times I’ve seen dead fish that other aquarium owners have floating in their aquariums. These owners are usually upset because their fish has died. They are usually quick to blame the store they bought the fish from, or some other ridiculous reason. The plain fact is most fish die due to the neglect of the owner. Fish may die from a variety of things, but most can be traced back to the owner. Was the fish attacked by other fish? Did it die from shock from adverse or unnatural water conditions? Did it die from disease? The simple fact is, if your fish did not die of old age, there is something you as an owner could have done to prevent it. Knowledge is the key to preventing your fish from dying.
