I really have NEVER …
I really have NEVER liked the “U” shaped design. Keep the stacks however give it a relatively more even spread and have the engineering and sound engineering departments at UNT create a computer model simulating and calculating the best design that creates a better acoustic environment. I’ve been on Florida’s field during the game and I have to say that the noise level on that field is a HUGE advantage and adrenaline booster.

Fouts is not that bad and not the worst in D1. Look at Lockhart Stadium that FAU uses… Its a FEMA trailer on stilts and my high school stadium was better than that. But I love the designs for UNT’s stadium and I think you guys can make it happen, so good luck!

As a parent I support the new stadium. Fouts is an embarrassment to UNT and the worst stadium in D1. It definitely affects recruiting, which affects the quality of the team, which affects the fan base, attendance and spirit. No high school recruit gets excited about playing at Fouts. Only those nobody wants come here..well except the coachs son maybe. UNT has the ability to become a respectable football school like recent programs S Fla and E Carolina. Build it and they will come

Might I suggest doing some research before you make stupid comments like this. The athletic fee is completely different from where Rec Sports gets their money, different fees. The reason why Rec Sports is having their budget cut is because they are just like any other club on campus and should be able to raise funds like any other group too. And, our team will get better with a new stadium.

More importantly, it is not your duty to make sure the football team has an uber expensive stadium to play in when they are the number one worst team in America. Fouts field cannot simply be “renovated.” It’s been stated many times that it is WAY too expensive and innefficient, especially for such a piece of crap. The stadium runs on like 18 generaters and in falling apart. They should plow over Fouts and turn that to parking. Why would they create a parking garage for a team all of you don’t come to see play or support a new stadium for? That makes even less sense. UNT is a D-1 school that the students treat like a middle school. Change the scene.

Wow, to the ppl saying “how is this going to magically make our team better?” you’re missing the point entirely. A building doesn’t make the team better directly. It gives players a reason to want to play for UNT. How would you want to play for a school that has a stadium like Fouts and fans like you who don’t care about football? When ppl see the students don’t care, they don’t want to play. It’s called changing the atmosphere and creating school spirit- something UNT lacks.

Bottom line is Fouts is a piece of and they’re gonna have to build a new stadium eventually, so I say I at least wanna see it before I graduate. This is beyond stupid. First of all our football team is lousy as it was said before they will not get magically better because we built a new stadium. As far as recruiting better players I don’t see that happening. We are not a football school, so players won’t pick UNT. secondly it is unfair to make students pay for it. How would you feel if you had to spend more or your hard earned money because total strangers said you had to three years ago? doesn’t matter SGA will rig the elections.

As an alumni I will donate as much as i can because it is my responsability. We do need a new stadium and they are only making future students pay for half. Lets support the athletic program as much as we can your years in college will only be better!

UT students pay for all sorts of new bldings and other random sorts(they have thsi noodle scuplture for no reason by their library) on their campus and dont even realize it is beign taking out of their pockets everyday so allowing us to vote on this is a privilege. paying for a stadium that students will use makes sense.

And how will a new stadium magically make them a better team? no one seems to be able to explain that. and again my major objection is that they WILL MAKE US PAY FOR IT!!!! there are many other things on campus that need improving. This is just another example of school placing athletics over academics. I hope that if it does pass there will be some form of protest.
