what are some scenic places near the dfw metroplex?
mainly for camping
theres got to be more to northeast texas than just flatness and trees…any hidden jewels somewhat close?
ok I knew I should of put down not possum kingdom…ive been there at least 4 times…very pretty…but I want to go somewhere new

Haha, yeah, I understand. There’s not much else I can think of though. The other lakes around DFW aren’t that great. I’ve never been there, but maybe the Lake Whitney area around Hillsboro would be nice.

You may have to travel further to get some truly great scenery. Maybe some others have better ideas nearby? Good luck!

Tyler state park is good, but Bonham state park is kinda small. The scenery is better east of Dallas. Farther east, Daingerfield state park on Hwy. 49 is very good.
