How much does it cost to register a car in DFW?

I moved to Dallas recently, and the cost to register my car back home was around $60. I’ve heard it is more here, and I’m curious cause my registration is due next month.

SCHEDULE OF TEXAS REGISTRATION FEES
EFFECTIVE January 1, 2009 EXPIRES December 31, 2009
STATE LAW ALLOWS THE COLLECTION OF LOCAL FEES AT THE TIME OF VEHICLE REGISTRATION
The fees indicated below are local fees that will be collected with your vehicle registration fee through your County Tax Assessor-Collector’s office.
The total fee highlighted in red on your renewal notice includes the extra fees if applicable. Please enclose an additional $1.00 for handling when registering by mail.
Dallas County $10 local fee
Tarrant County $10 local fee

PASSENGER CARS
The annual license fee for a passenger car, city bus, or private bus shall be based on the manufacturer’s model year or weight in pounds, as the
case might be, of the vehicle as follows:
MODEL YEAR OR WEIGHT IN POUNDS FEE
2003 AND OLDER MODELS………………………………………….. $40.80
2004, 2005 AND 2006 MODELS …………………………………….. $50.80
2007 AND NEWER MODELS…………………………………………. $58.80
6,001 LBS. AND OVER………………………………………………….. $25.00 PLUS 60¢ CWT PLUS 30¢
(irrespective of model year)
The weight of any passenger car for purposes of registration shall be the weight generally accepted as its correct shipping weight plus one hundred pounds.

Each county has a different fee. Registering a car in Tarrant County is Cheaper than Dallas County by $6. You need to contact your local tax Accesors office because that is where you go to register your car.

I have a 2008 4dr Nissan Sentra and it costs me $62 to register it.
